Levington John Innes No 1 Young Plant Seedling Root Cutting Potting Compost 10L
Description:
Approved by the John Innes Manufacturers Association, Peat Free John Innes No.1 is a great start for your young plants and root cuttings. It has been specially developed, with a unique combination of 14 vital minerals for maintaining plants growth and health.
Coverage:
Fills 2 standard seed trays 34cm x 21cm.
Fills 10 small pots 12cm (5").
Fills 2 medium pots 22cm (9").
For picking out seedlings:
Loosely fill the tray or pot with Peat Free John Innes No.1 compost and level. Use a dibber or small fork to loosen the compost beneath the seedling. Holding the seedling by a seed leaf, ease the seedling out of its compost keeping as much of the original compost sticking to the roots as possible. Make a hole in the new compost and place the roots of the seedling in the hole. Gently firm the compost around the plant, spacing out the seedlings evenly. Water gently with a fine rose to settle the compost around the roots. Keep in a warm, shaded spot protected from frost.
For potting-on rooting cuttings:
Add a layer of Peat Free John Innes No.1 compost to the bottom of the new pots or tray cells. Position the rooted cutting into the pot and top up with fresh compost around the roots. Water gently and keep in a warm, shaded spot protected from frost.
